Why this matters in Mahmood Kot specifically

Mahmood Kot in Muzaffargarh district hosts PARCO's mid-country refinery (around 100,000 bpd) plus the PAPCO pipeline terminal feeding the central market. All of it draws cooling, process, and boiler-makeup from the Chenab–Indus confluence, which has a distinct scaling profile compared to Karachi sea-influenced makeup or Lahore canal water.

Indus-fed feedwater at this latitude carries calcium 60–110 ppm as CaCO₃, sulphate 80–180 ppm, and silica that climbs to 30–50 ppm in the low-flow winter months. Silica is the structural concern on the RO side: any antiscalant that doesn't keep silica in solution at recovery 75%+ will start fouling the third-stage elements within months.

PARCO's water-treatment chain runs softening + cartridge filtration + RO into demineralised polishing for boiler-makeup. The RO antiscalant choice ripples downstream into how often the operators have to chemically clean the membranes and how steady the demin polishers run.

Logistics: Mahmood Kot is 850 km from Karachi Port. Stock-spec UN-307 ships in 4–6 days via NLC freight. We've dispatched programme-supply contracts to refining sites on this corridor since the early 2020s.

What we ship

UN-307 is a phosphonate-based antiscalant: organic-phosphonic acid blend, active content 40–50%, density 1.20 g/cm³, pH 2.0–4.0. Inhibits CaCO₃, CaSO₄, BaSO₄, SrSO₄, silica, and iron scales through threshold inhibition, crystal modification, and dispersion. Compatible with all major polyamide membranes (CPA, ESPA, TFC). Non-chlorine-tolerant; has to be dosed downstream of dechlorination.

Where it fits in the process
  • Stage: dosed continuously into the RO feed line, downstream of the cartridge filters and any sodium bisulphite dechlorination skid.
  • Function: holds calcium, sulphate, barium, strontium, and silica in solution past their thermodynamic precipitation limits. Lets the RO run at higher recovery (75–85%) without scaling the rear-stage elements.
  • Dose range: 2–5 ppm on the feedwater. We calculate the exact figure from your feed analysis (LSI, S&DSI, sulphate ratio, silica concentration × recovery factor).
  • Monitoring: monthly normalised differential pressure across each stage, plus quarterly element autopsy on cleaned membranes if available.
