PAC for Paper Mills in Sialkot
Industrial-grade PAC for Sialkot paper, board, and packaging mills. Coagulant for ETP primary treatment plus retention support on neutral-paper machines. Karachi stock, 3–4 day truck.
Sialkot is dominated by surgical-instrument, sports-goods, and leather export, but the paper and packaging cluster; feeding cartonboard and printed-packaging into those export lines; is structural. Mid-sized mills across Daska Road, Pasrur Road, and the Sambrial Industrial Zone run paper machines from 30 to 150 mt/day.
Sialkot raw-water is tubewell-fed with hardness in the 220–380 ppm range and intermittent iron staining. Mill ETPs handle a mix of fibre fines, residual size, and de-inking carryover; coagulant chemistry has to work across that organic load without dragging too much aluminium into the dewatered cake.
Tannery-adjacent water tables in parts of the Sialkot industrial belt carry chrome and sulphate that show up in mill make-up. PAC handles colour and turbidity from this profile cleanly, and the heavy-metals envelope on the industrial grade is documented per batch.
Logistics: Karachi-Sialkot is 1,400 km, 3–4 days on stock-spec freight via M-9/M-2 to Lahore then GT Road north. We can split a container between a Sialkot paper account and a Faisalabad textile account if dispatch is co-ordinated.
Industrial-grade PAC: Al₂O₃ ≥ 10% liquid / ≥ 29% solid, basicity 60–85%, density 1.21+ g/cm³, pH 3.5–5.0. Heavy-metals envelope traceable on the per-batch CoA. Two principal use windows in a paper mill: ETP primary clarifier coagulant, and (less commonly) wet-end coagulant on neutral-paper machines that need a charge-neutralisation stage ahead of the cationic retention polymer.
- ETP primary clarifier: dose 50–200 ppm into the rapid-mix tank ahead of the flocculator. Coagulates fibre fines, dye carryover, and dissolved organics into compact flocs that settle in 8–15 minutes. Pair with 0.5–2 ppm CPAM in the second flocculation stage for floc consolidation.
- Wet-end (neutral papermaking, optional): dose 0.5–2 kg per dry-tonne paper into the thick stock or fan-pump suction. Charge-neutralises the cationic-demanding species ahead of the CPAM retention aid. Lifts first-pass retention 4–8 points on machines that struggle with anionic-trash interference.
- pH compatibility: PAC operates 5.0–9.0, which covers the pH window of typical mill ETPs and neutral paper machines without acid trim.
- Sludge management: PAC sludge dewaters cleanly on belt presses. Lower volume than alum sludge for the same turbidity load.
